Yay photos of my new River costume! Many thanks to pxlbarrel for grabbing a few shots with me as a 'test run' for her masquerade shots!

Pretty much the more I see of River the more I love her! She's such a badass!

Bought the dress in June when it went on sale (All Saints Zeeda dress in taupe), and made everything else on the costume.

Belt was a thick piece of light brown vinyl that I hole punched to get the look of the original belt. I also bought the actual Sam Browne studs used in the real All Saints belt. After all that hole punching (17 rows with 5 holes in each row) I painted the belt with a dark brown acryllic paint about 3 times, and 'weathered' it to give a bit of a more worn/leather-y look.

Pouches and holster were made from a dark brown leather look vinyl, miraculous find, not too sure what it actually was but it was a bit different from the normal sort of vinyl. Loved that stuff.

Gun was a modified Nerf Nite-Finder. I cut off the orange pull mechanism and the bottom bit of the yellow at the front where you would hold the extra ammo with a hack saw. It was then covered in a ton of craft foam to make it look as much like her Alpha Meson blaster as possible!

A friend helped me with a good chunk of the paint job as she helped me figure out how to weather the thing down and get a good paintjob on it. I'm actually really proud of how the gun came out, not too bad for my first ever prop!!

Her vortex manipulator was just a small piece of side leather that I bought at Micheals that I cut and glued together to look like hers. I'm hoping to buy an authentic manipulator when they re-release the prop in october~!
